Area Leaders Sound Off to Legislative Committee

Now that the storm is mostly behind us, it’s time for the area to look at what we can improve on next time. On Monday Sam Patrick and other leaders from around the State spoke to the Workforce and Economic Development Committee in Salem. Brad Witt chairs this Committee and Debbie Boone joined by telephone. Betsy Johnson was also on hand to comment and answer questions.

2 Didn’t Attend

Both Sheriff Tom Bergin and Astoria Mayor Willis Van Dusen were scheduled to speak at the round table discussion. Betsy Johnson read a brief statement from Mr. Van Dusen about a meeting he had scheduled and this was why he couldn’t attend.
Nothing was said at the meeting of why Tom Bergin couldn’t make it.

Patrick Discusses Area At Length

In the Commissioner Round Table, Sam Patrick, Mark Labhart from Tillamook County and Tony Hyde from Columbia County gave testimony.
