It’s finally here!
The Donkeys are on their way to the North Coast….
This Saturday the Kiwanis Club of Astoria-Warrenton is presenting Donkey Basketball. 2 teams will square off and play a game of hoops…except they must ride donkeys to play. Should be a fun night for the whole family.
Tip off is 7pm at the Warrenton High School…and if some players don’t show, you will probably see me on one of those donkeys…
Tickets can be bought at the door or by calling Swede at 338-7400. They are also giving them away on KCRX.
All proceeds go to those in need throughout the community.

What a great evening of fun this will be! Be sure and bring you young un’s and let them pet the donkeys at half time.
!00% of the net funds raised will be used for and returned to our community to fill needs.
The past year Kiwanis, because you helped, was able to build a wheelchair ramp for a disabled veteran, we also had a new $14,000.00 electric wheel chair donated, we put on a Christmas Party for all the foster children in Clatsop County,( There were 121 families in 2007 ), helped the Pioneer House (a shelter for homeless families) re-open and
also had a new gas range donated, we also gave 3 scolarships at the hih schools. Help us help kids. It will make you feel good

Except for the fact that the proceeds went to a good cause, donkey basketball made an a$$ out of me. I broke two ribs on the floor of the gym about twenty five years ago and was dunb enough to climb right back on. Not a lot of give in those hardwood floors.

Does anyone remember the Donkey Basketball games at Astoria High School?
I think they were put on every year by the Lions Club. I know my family went every year they came to town, had to be 15-20 years ago.
