A major weather event could hit the Oregon Coast on Monday.
The latest models have the worst of it heading to British Columbia. But the computers say this storm will reach about 948 millibars as it cruises by Oregon 500 miles offshore. With pressure this low, if we compared it to Atlantic Hurricanes, it would be stronger (minimum pressure) than some of the Category 5 Hurricanes on record. This coupled with a very strong High Pressure area forming over Utah and Nevada could make this a serious weather event.
(And I beat the Oregonian Paid Staffers by 3 hours!!!! Whoo Hoo!!)
New Links
Updated and added few links.
This one is brand new from Mapquest. It lists the current gas prices around the area. I’m not sure how they get the data, but it seems to work great!
Also new is the Road Conditions from ODOT and a Tide Book= for the mouth of the Columbia.
This link takes you directly to the Astoria Dispatch. I used to go through the City of Astoria website, but even when it works its really slow. Hopefully the Seaside Dispatch will come online soon…(come on folks it’s almost 2008!!)
And finally a new link to Astoria Citizens Journal…which seems to change URL’s more often than Rudy Giuliani changes wiv…oh nvrmnd…
