The ones making a mockery of our county are the Daily Astorian as well as the District Attorney. Responsible reporting would have put this whole mess to bed in June. The report that this District Attorney was collaborating with one of the Commissioners to put this salary on a ballot and blame the rest of the commissioners, BEFORE the public hearing even occurred and before the budget was voted on by the Board of County Commissioners, would have ensured that the petition wouldn’t have even gotten enough signatures to fly. How do I KNOW that? Easy, the Daily Astorian proved it by not running the story. Forrester controls what information the people get, he controls elections (frightening power to give to the only daily) unless there is a determined group of people in opposition to his wishes who fight hard enough to get information to the public. The fish wrapper doesn’t pass the sniff test.

good! one of the best groups of people i’ve ever seen work together in government and doing a great job holding people accountable. they make good long term plans with our taxes and revenue that are easy for departments to follow, they aren’t afraid of making hard decisions no matter how unpopular that makes them with the elite or media hounds, they pick competent legal representation that saved us 10 million dollars that the state was trying to take away through our forests and in dealing with sly local attorneys who think they can double talk their way out of anything.

holy smokes #18 i am in no way related to the criminals who brought us the salary scam. a commissioner who doesnt tell the other commissioners he’s been in ex parte communication w/the district attorney during the stipend debate and again during the mou debate! criminals! and you are right, those two ain’t done with the damage they intend to do. they won’t stop until one of them is in jail.
