Tom wants a refund?!?

by Walter Richards

To paraphrase the Bible: Remove the plank in your own eye, before talking about the one in your neighbor’s.

Yes, Tom, one shouldn’t complain about the lack of skilled reporting or editing of your competitor … when your employer suffers the same problem. But I guess only butt-kissers who agree with you have their replies approved on your blog. That being the case, you might as well just turn the “reply mode” (or whatever it’s called) off.

KAST’s reporting is just as bad as that of the Daily Astorian. Neither seems to have any real reporters. Both of you seem to have problems asking any “hardball” questions of even local political figures. Nor do you seem to understand the concept of a “follow up” question. Perhaps most unfortunate of all, both of you allow your personal biases to taint what little true news you print/air.

You want a refund of your 50 cents? Perhaps the taxpayers, who own the airwaves, want a refund.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. I don’t know what they’re teaching in journalism classes, but it doesn’t seem to be reporting or investigating skills.

Yup Walt, true words spoken. Who,why, where, when and how

I’m sure Tom will put it up eventually. I’ve made a few comments that were not posted for 2-3 days. I’ve noticed with many of the comments that are critical of KAST…...he waits a bit and then posts it along with a response below.

I didn’t think there was anything wrong with the pool story. That story, while a little harsh on the pool staff, at least had some investigation and interviews. It wasn’t like many of the others that are just a recap/press release.

I left a comment a week ago. Hasn’t registered yet. Tom must be very busy.

And yet, another post agreeing with Tom has been approved.

Doesn’t look like he’s too busy for the butt-kissers.

Well I guess I was wrong. Neither comment was posted and another just went up this afternoon.

You can post it here Pierce if you want. I would guess most people who reads the comments on Tom’s site also read the ones here.
