Taking a bit of a break from all this D.A. stuff.

Local

  • The Timber Payments are making a comeback. Ron Wyden and Gorden Smith, along with some other Western Senators, are pushing for a 3.6 million multi-year package.
  • One of the local Astoria Clowns, that was in the Strawberry Festival, had his scooter stolen in Lebanon. Somebody has got to clean up that town, the crime is getting out of control. (Poke at Jaggy)
  • A company in Canada has started building it’s first wave power buoy in Portland at Oregon Iron Works. They will be testing it on the Oregon Coast shortly. Construction photos here.
  • As if NCO doesn’t take up enough time, I have also started a local Kiwanis Board. I will be posting some of our events and overviews of our meetings. Today we had the Regatta Court give a presentation and I posted a short overview of what they are all about.

Hey, that clown is lucky he only lost his scooter. Lebanon is a beautiful place to live, but we have some serious crime going on. Identity theft crimes are worse here than anywhere else in the state. Meth production and use are high, and we have a large sex offenders population.

Not a big fan of Sweet Home. Strongly dislike Eugene (for obvious reasons, cough Go Beavs! cough). Southern Oregon could become another state, that’s fine. Central and Eastern Oregon… meh, good for potatoes.

In the 30’s and 40’s it was urban blacks and Marijuana, in the 90’s and 00’s it’s tweaked out white trash rural white guys…..
