Pioneer House Garage Sale is Fast Approaching

by Tryan Hartill

As most of you know the Pioneer House recently closed for financial reasons.

The Pioneer House is very important to our local area. They handle up to 30 of our most vulnerable citizens at any given time. Those who are recovering from abusive relationships, just out of jail, or need a roof over their heads for a few nights, can always find warm beds, hot food and a comforting staff at the Pioneer House.

Even though they receive over $100,000 from local charities, they still were running almost $2,000 in the red each month of 2007.

Coming up this Labor Day Weekend is a giant Garage Sale, and proceeds will go to the Pioneer House so we can get it back open as quickly as possible.

For the sale we are asking for donations of good quality items that we can sell this weekend. We also need a big turnout for the sale itself, which will happen on Friday the 25th and Saturday the 26th.

The location is just off of 39th Street in the new Warehouses.

No it’s just Friday and Saturday. There are some fliers up that say the 27th-28th, but they are incorrect….
