As most of you know, I went on a weekend trip to the Valley to meet up with Jaggy.
One of the places she took me on my weekend adventure was Silver Falls. It is located East of Silverton and about 30 minutes from Salem. This is a monstrous Park. There could be thousands of people out there and you would barely see any. I would also highly recommend checking it out if you are in the area. The park consists of at least 10 miles of trails the meander along 2 rivers. The elevation changes are huge. Probably close to 1500 ft from the highest point to the lowest and this creates 14 waterfalls from anywhere to 30 to 170 feet high. This is the first one at the far north end of the park.
We only had a few hours to wonder around, so we only explored about 20% of the trails, but out of the ones we saw, this one had to be the most impressive. And the pictures don’t really do it justice, it is much more spectacular in person. The first photo is directly behind it.

The next one is from the side.
And the 3rd is from about a 1/2 mile away. It doesn’t look that large, but it drops about 140 feet…the Astoria Column is only 125 feet.
And here is another one that drops over 100 feet, but this river is about half the size of the other.
