Polls don’t close untill 8pm tonight and the first round of results should be out by 8:05.
Clatsop was already up to 54% yesterday.
Here is the number of returned ballots by county.
Click on the link and tell me if anything seems strange.
(Hint Hint, more people in Clatsop County voted on Oct 22nd than all of Oregon combined…by a 2-1 margin!)
Quite odd indeed.
Update:
From the U.S. Senate….
For whatever it’s worth, 5 Senate races have “been called”.
New Jersey: Bob Menendez (D Hold)
Ohio: Sherrod Brown (D pickup)
Pennsylvania: Bob Casey (D pickup)
Vermont: Bernie Sanders (Indy to D)
Indiana: Richard Lugar (R Hold)
Update #2
Looks like Rhode Island Senate race has been called with a pick-up for the D’s.
Also it would appear that the Repubs have pulled out big wins in Tennessee and Virgina for Senate.
It appear that we will have a 50-50 split in the U.S. Senate for the next 2 years if Montana goes to Tester (D).

Van Dusen didn’t return a call for comment, but Astoria City Council President Russ Warr said the vote was closer than he expected.
“I’m very happy that Willis won because he’s been a very good mayor, and he is very qualified to run this city, and he’s working hard to change his lifestyle,” Warr said.
Some residents said they worried that re-electing Van Dusen would send the wrong message to children and cast a shadow on the finally thriving riverfront town. But Van Dusen, who spent 30 days in a rehabilitation center, said in an earlier interview that he learned his lesson and was a stronger and better mayor for his struggles.
“You knew it was expected,” said resident Patrick McGee, a house designer who believed Van Dusen should have stepped down. “Hopefully he’s learned his lesson. I guess what we have to do now is pick up and go forward from there.”*

This is fame?
Give it to somebody else, let’s just make sure Willis and his ….er…..ah…team serve the public that elected them as well as those that didn’t.
The same with all the rest.
There’s a saying in the sport of Ice Hockey, for one:”It doesn’t matter how the puck gets into the net, it’s still a goal.” and after twenty some years on Astoria City Council, a 204 vote victory margin would be a message I would pay attention to.
There’s also another one that says:”There’s the rules in “The Book” and then there’s the rules on “The Ice”.”
And I stand by by comment, “Let’s move forward from here.”
Next issue.

Lee’s numbers are the SAME as the primary, meaning HALF the voters did not vote for him. Not exactly a stunning win any more than 37-vote victory in May.
