Just checked my email and I got a vote Price message sent to me.
So I go over at the Price Blog and sure enough….Cindy Price is asking for your write-in vote:
My position is straightforward: I’m for openness, full participation and competency in government.
Openness: Conducting the county’s business in open sessions. Making clear all conflicts of interest. Advocating for the use of our government channel to broadcast all County meetings. Using the Internet, the newspapers, our broadcast media and town halls to communicate the work of the Commission and actively promote citizen comment and participation.
Full participation: Attending and actively participating: in the commissions to which one is assigned; in the political, economic and cultural events of interest to the diverse range of community members; and with regional, state and federal agencies so that Clatsop County is a player at the table.
Competency: Using the information gathered through openness and participation to make balanced decisions that are best for the County’s residents, without regard to special or personal interests.
The joint meeting held last night by the Astoria Planning Commission and the Historic Landmarks Commission, including Todd Scott and Rosemary Johnson of Community Development, was a fine example of good government. Let’s get the County to engage us in the same way.
I wish she had been on the campaign trail for the last few months to try to pull off a write-in win.

I’m sure she will get 50% of them as of now. If there was at least a little campaigning going on the last few weeks, I would bet that number would be in the 80% range.
Even though he has a large number of supporters, it’s amazing how many people you talk to who just will not vote for Richard Lee

I’ve been hearing from many in her district for months, though, that they were going to vote Price again, regardless and many are swithing over from Lee who voted for him in the “Primaries”.
One even said and I am paraphrasing: “I never really paid much attention to him(Lee) before, just blindly voted for him and then I started listening to what he had to say and followed up on a couple of points brought up by Price and I have regretted my vote ever since.”
I think many of the politically “Deaf and Blind” are starting to wake-up now and I have also talked to many people still holding on that final mark-up of their ballots till the last minute awaiting further development on a couple of issues.

Richard Lee doesn’t have a lot of supporters. He barely got 50.2% of the vote and that was with every single GOB looking to keep their pockets lined AND Steve Forrester inexplexplicably endorsing Lee. The county had to hire a Portland lawyer to assure themselves that he hadn’t actually committed a crime…yet…as far as we know. That’s a real gold standard to set for our elected officials
