Did anyone else catch last weekend’s show “Mythbusters”? They researched the theory of “explosive decompression” onboard an airliner, caused by gunshots.
To do so, they went to an airplane “graveyard”, and pressurized a fuselage to 8-9 psi … the same pressure difference found at altitude. Then they remotely fired a gun at the fuselage. No explosive decompression.
They then patched the fuselage hole, and repressurized the plane. The second time, they fired the gun at a window. Again, no explosive decompression.
Now, they did this to test whether the explosive decompression shown on movies was realistic or not. However, it also puts the lie to the theory that (say) allowing passengers to carry firearms would put the plane at risk of explosive decompression.

We need to draft up a program idea involving debunking whether LNG is flammable/explosive or not and finally settle the accuracy of the statement on national TV and maybe somebody will finally be convinced of its danger.
Even a model study/experiment will get major results when the stuff does ignite.
Anybody got the time?
They are always searching for program ideas.
